I’m Stanislav Derpoliuk.
I think AI is reshaping not just software, but the world around us. I’m enthusiastic about it, a bit cautious about the unknowns, and mostly trying to understand what it actually means in practice — while figuring out my place in it, like everyone else.
I started my career building iOS apps. That was the entry point — but not the end of the story.
Some of my early work was in startups. I led iOS development at a fintech company during a period of rapid growth, where much of the work was not just writing code, but helping the system evolve — reworking architecture, improving practices, and keeping things stable as the team scaled. Before that, I worked on a product that later became part of Cisco, in a Silicon Valley environment, building around voice, conversations, and early AI-driven features.
Those experiences shaped how I think about software: not as isolated code, but as part of a moving system — product, team, constraints, and decisions over time.
Today, I work at REDspace on a project for CNN. This brings a different kind of complexity — working within evolving systems, navigating ambiguity, aligning across teams, and improving things over time.
My work has expanded beyond mobile into architecture, product thinking, and technical direction — less about a specific platform, more about how systems come together and hold up in practice.
Recently, a lot of my focus has been on AI — not as a trend, but as a tool: how it changes software development, how it fits into real products, and how to separate what’s useful from what’s just noise.
I write here about things I find important or useful. Sometimes it’s software, AI, leadership, or work. Sometimes it’s not.
